If you have checked “Show ScreenFlow options in menu bar” in
Preferences the ScreenFlow status menu

) appears at the right
of the menu bar. The menu contains the following items:
Record/Stop Record (shift-command-2)
Begins recording using the most recently selected devices (screen,
camera, microphone). The menu icon changes to 
.
Select “Stop Record” or press shift-command-2 to stop the recording
(or the hot keys you’ve selected in Preferences).
When the recording is finished, a new document will be created. If you have a document already open in ScreenFlow, you will have the option to either create a new document or add the recording to an existing one.
Pause/Resume
Pauses the recording. Resume recording by selecting “Resume”.
Configure Recording…
Displays the New Recording Dialog from which you can start recording.
Hide Desktop/Show Desktop
You can hide all icons on your Desktop if you prefer to have a less cluttered background to your screen recording. You can show them again when you need to interact with your Desktop.
Quit ScreenFlow
Quits the ScreenFlow and the ScreenFlow Helper applications.
